The Introduction to Islam class of the Interdisciplinary Studies
program has the following events that might interest faculty members
and students outside of this class. Please come along.

Feb 17 (Thur): Being a Muslim in the United States especially after 9/11

*Can a Muslim in the United States be a good Muslim without following
the Sharia’h?given that the U.S. is a pluralist society.

*Some Muslims scholars insist that the Qur’an should not be translated to other language since Allah revealed it in Arabic. How come your movement are forerunners of translating the Qur’an in different languages?

Resource Persons:

1) Fazeel S. Khan, Esq. (B.A., LL.B., LL.M.) is a Lawyer by
profession?in the United States. He obtained his AB degree from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia, majoring in criminology and minoring in psychology. He obtained his law degree from the University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario. He also obtained a Masters in Laws degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Aside from his keen interest in the law, Mr. Khan has a passion for comparative religious studies and is an active participant in various inter-faith programs.

2) Noman Malik M.D. Associate Pathologist (retd.) Mount Carmel Medical Center, Columbus Ohio, USA. Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Fellow of the American College Pathology, and Assistant Clinical Professor Ohio State University Columbus, Ohio
